The Piranhas Swim Club of Fort Saskatchewan is a competitive swim club committed to providing an opportunity in a friendly environment for children who wish to pursue improved physical fitness, to sharpen their swimming skills, to experience competing in local Region C swim meets, Regionals and the Alberta Summer Swimming Provincials. Our club is primarily geared to children, ages 4-18. We believe in the concept of setting and realizing the personal goals of each individual swimmer, but we also strongly incorporate a team spirit of positive attitudes, respect and responsibility. Our club values involvement in all club activities including: training, competition, social events and fundraising. All our club members, volunteers and coaching staff, as outlined in our Code of Conduct, supports these values.
Congratulations to the 17 swimmers who made the trip to Lloydminster for their swim meet. Out of 63 swims, there were 35 personal bests. Of the 8 relays sent, the Girls U17 200 FR team of E. Laybourne, M. McGill, S. Dehart, M. Gavigan placed second, and first went to Girls U10 100 MR team of D. Olagunju, A. Verhoeven, C. Parchment, K. Kutz, the Girls U10 team of A. Verhoeven, G. Pasnak, G. Laybourne, C. Parchment, and the Boys U17 team of B. Paul, I. Parsons, D. Calef and Z. Dzhabrailov for both their 200 Medley and Free relay. Congratulations to the following swimmers for their age group medal: Bronze for Braeden Paul for U6 Boys, Silver for both Grace Laybourne for U8 Girls and Isaac Parsons for U10 Boys, and gold for both Chesney Parchment for U10 Girls and Duncan Calef for U17 Boys. Several club records were also broken this weekend. Isaac Parsons set a new record for 9 & 10 Boys 200 FR, Chesney Parchment for 9 & 10 Girls in both her 50 Butterfly and 25 Back, and McKenzi Huhn for 13 & 14 Girls 100 Breaststroke at the Alberta Summer Games trials. Way to go Piranhas!

Last option for buying your swim suit, if you missed coming to the sizing dates: Running Room in Sherwood Park's Millenium Place carries a regular stock of Plain Navy Speedo Polyester Training Suits. You will want a good quality polyester Training suit to practice in!! (Lycra is not a good option for practice as it is meant for racing and will wear out quickly if used as a practice suit)
